‘But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”‘ Luke 2:10
Monday – Praise
‘Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.’
Psalms 100:2

• Lord, we cannot live our lives without You; help us to keep You as their central focus.
• Thank You for sending Your Son as a tiny baby to rescue us from our sins. This Christmas, help us to remember Your gracious gift to us, and celebrate what this season is truly about.
• In all the brokenness of this world, Lord, You reign. You are good, faithful and kind, and we praise You.

Tuesday – Self
‘”I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”‘
Luke 1:38

• Help us to be more like You, Lord, and help us to serve You alone.
• Lord, as we live in these difficult times, help us to maintain a positive perspective on our circumstances. With so many plans disrupted, we remember how Mary and Joseph had their plans disrupted, but that You were working amidst it all for a great purpose.
• Bring comfort to those experiencing loneliness, Lord. Provide for their needs, and surround them with Your love.

Wednesday – Church
‘And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.’
Hebrews 10:24-25

• Lord, we pray that churches would offer a shining light around the world in the darkness of this time.
• Thank You that places of worship have been allowed to remain open across the country. We pray that this would be a source of hope for all, and that churches would abide by guidelines to enable them to remain open.

Thursday – Nation
‘He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”‘
Psalms 46:10

• We thank You, Lord, for all those who are tirelessly working to help those in need. Give them rest where they need it, strength to continue, and love for all those around them.
• We pray for all those who are fearful at this time, particularly those under the new restrictions. Replace their fear with peace and fill them with Your love, Lord.
• We pray for the Government, that they would be wise in their decisions and seek the best interests of the nation.

Friday – World
‘He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples.’
Isaiah 2:4

• Thank You for the provision of a vaccine for so many countries around the world. We pray that it would be effective, and that those who need it most would be able to access sufficient supplies.
• We pray for all those living in places of political unrest. Bring peaceful resolution to any conflict, and keep people safe in these areas, Lord.
• We pray for all those separated from loved ones by travel restrictions this Christmas. Bring them comfort and joy this season.
