Karen Hewett-Williams, Co-Founder of HIP Health, shares her top ten tips for staying connected and healthy in lockdown and beyond:

  1. Drink two large glasses of water when you wake up to kick start your metabolism
  2. Spend some time with Jesus every morning
  3. Remember to be thankful for all the blessings you have been given
  4. Smile – takes less energy than a frown!
  5. Do daily exercise (see our workouts page)
  6. Keep active throughout the day – go for a walk, walk up the stairs. Sitting for long periods will make you feel lethargic
  7. Eat 4-6 small meals , being mindful to include a handful of protein and carbohydrates (brown rice, brown pasta) along with lots of vegetables
  8. Drink water throughout the day, at least 2-3 litres
  9. Reduce your sugar intake – even if it is cutting out sugar in your tea or coffee
  10. Have at least 1 hour of downtime before going to bed, do not take your phone and try having sleep herbal teas, if you struggle to sleep
